Anyone knows if the Superman & Lois series will be broadcast on Canadian television? It's less than a month away and I found no info. Supergirl and Batwoman are shown on Showcase. Also, will Supergirl.TV create a separate site to talk about S & L or will it be on this site?
Thx.

Supergirl borrowed from Superman comics quite a bit during its run. Turnabout is fair play. First, S&L introduced its version of Supergirl villain Lesla-Lar aka Leslie Larr. Now, S&L has introduced its version of X-kryptonite, which was "created" by Supergirl in the comics and gave her cat Streaky its powers. Could S&L introduce Krypto via the X-kryptonite story arc like Supergirl introduced Streaky in the comics,
... oh, they so share the thunder clap. For some reason that always fun to see.

@Kelly "I keep hearing how great the S & L ratings are but I just looked on TV Series.com and they aren't that great....am I missing something?"
They are referring to its CW online streaming platform numbers and not its live/SD numbers on the linear CW platform. The show's premiere gave CW online platform(s) its best numbers ever. In hopes of keeping the viewing momentum, starting with episode 2, the CW online platform is showing extended cut versions with extra footage.

Episodes 2 forward of S&L will feature extra/deleted scenes on CW online streaming that were cut to accomodate the Linear CW schedule. The opposite of the Stargirl treatment, where the originally aired episode was trimmed for time on the CW. Good to hear the extra bits will be available.

I won't go into anything that spoils it for anyone.
The setting and timing are interesting.
But somehow the show falls flat for me.
I hope it gets better.
I am a huge fan of Supergirl season 1.
I believe that was a phenomenal start to what could have been even
better than it has been (which is awesome).
I am also a diehard KARAWINN shipper. Oh well.

I just found out that the CTV Sci-Fi channel will be broadcasting S & L. I'm passing the information along for other Canadian fans like me.
A bit o-t here, but the Superman chain on WPIX will add another link with S&L. That chain goes back to of course the George Reeves TV show which aired in syndication I think on PIX first air and reruns, which I remember back as a little kid in the late 70's. Then all 4 Chris Reeve movies were shown on 11, as was Helen Slater's Supergirl. And of course Supergirl on the CW.
And as for the movies, at least the first two, some scenes were shot in The News Building, AKA the home of WPIX-TV PIX 11, the former home of the Daily News.
The point is, and this is something I did not know happened to WPIX, it's no longer owned by Scripps Howard. Since last November, channel 11 has been sold to Mission Broadcasting a Nexstar associated company. So this puts channel 11 under Nexstar after a very brief time with Scripps and after many years under Tribune.
Just a little update from the place used as The Daily Planet.
I'm not sure about this but it's been reported that all Canadians must be vaccinated for Covid before Superman and Lois can be broadcasted in Canada.
There is a bigger push to promote Superman & Lois as "from the creators of The Flash" as opposed to a Supergirl spinoff. It sounds like they are giving Superman & L a bigger budget to get that big screen look.

One more point I’d like to make Supergirl.TV is ad free whereas DCTV.NEWS is ad supported. Anything with Superman = $$$. It makes good business sense for the admins to cover S&L on a monetize site. Our admins are awesome and obviously not in this for the money but I for one would like them to make as much as possible for their hard work. From a user perspective DCTV.NEWS uses the same format as this site. There’s a good chance people can have the same username, I know some already do.
And really, Supergirl has a spin-off starring her "more famous cousin." How cool is that? Sure, Arrow begot Flash and Legends--arguably Batwoman. Superman and Lois has Supergirl as its "parent show." Pretty fine legacy, if you ask me.It is a fine legacy unfortunately some Superman fans in other places seem to forget or don’t want to acknowledge that. They seem to be fine with S&L being a spin-off of Arrow but when I point out that it’s actually a spin-off of Supergirl, which isn’t itself a spin-off of any show, they just say well it’s all part of the Arrowverse. As Cat told Kara a woman has to work twice as hard...
Hope, Help and Compassion for all
I guess two words come into my mind regarding Supergirl; sacrificial lamb. The show is taking the fall along with Black Lightning (TBH never really got into) to allow the likes of S&L to get two extra episodes, Legends getting season 7 and The Flash putting a snowman (8) in the books and not even an episode has yet to air...to carry on. Also Stargirl gets a third season yet no season 2 episodes have aired. Despite the legacy and legend of Superman, this CWVerse is being led by a streak of red and yellow called The Flash.
Largely true about the Flash being the "flagship." But I think Supergirl ending had more to do with Melissa's desire to move on rather than making room for other shows. CW will not hesitate to make new content for an existing property as long as it can--in some cases, taking a show way past its "sell by date."

I've beaten the show up on its writing--and I'll do it again in a heartbeat if I see reason to--but there is no need for Supergirl to have a chip on its shoulder in terms of longevity. It has accomplished great things and has much to be proud of.
Slightly OT but just saw that The CW has renewed The Flash for Season 8,Legends for Season 7,Batwoman for Season 3 and increased the upcoming premiere season of Superman & Lois to 15 episodes.
I'm very happy at the reneweals of Flash,Legends and Batwoman but I also got a ping of sadness for losing Supergirl and Black Lighting especially Supergirl in relation to Legends going on to Season 7.

Whether Supergirl deserves a dedicated website, the fact is the show is ending. I imagine there would be some overlap in interest. I'm interested in the Super-mythos as a whole, so I'm giving S&L a shot. I'd welcome coverage here, for simplicity's sake, but if a transition to a wider scope makes members uncomfortable, it's no big deal for me to go to dctv.news--or another website depending on the admins' willingness and ability to maintain multiple sites.
That's both true and fair. I'm admittedly just letting it get to me that Supergirl has gotten the shaft since the hiatus started, in terms of announcements, coverage, and basic knowledge of WTF is going on. I'm just being a curmudgeon, lol
I'll definitely be tuning in for Superman & Lois. I just think that Superman & Lois' first season is going to vastly get more coverage than Supergirl's last. And having that overshadowing happen here would just feel like adding insult to injury. I truly don't think the plan was ever for it to replace Supergirl. It's just that, with the timing of it, that's what it ends up feeling like.
My logic may seem flawed, and it probably is. I think I'm just speaking from emotion rather than logic, regarding Supergirl, since it's coming to an end. Arrow's last season was promoted like nobody's business, so the lack of anything for Supergirl has got me feeling...to put it politely...irritable. Superman & Lois has been overshadowing it since it was announced.

On one hand, it would bring more traffic to the site until Supergirl starts up, again.
But on the reverse...I feel like this entire season would be a season of the site transitioning away from Supergirl and towards Superman & Lois. It may sound petty, but I feel like Supergirl deserves more than that. It already feels like every other big resource since the hiatus started has put Supergirl on the backburner, especially DC Fandome, where they covered EVERY OTHER DC tv show. Not to mention it looks like CW has completely given up on promoting it. This site is kinda the last bastion for places dedicated to just Supergirl.

Like I said, I would love Supergirl.tv to cover Superman & Lois but maybe it's better to have a different website. I'm with Brierrose on this one. I'm just a bit confused about all the different sites. I thought Stargirl and Batwoman were covered by Supergirl.tv I see the links at the bottom of the page. That's why I said I want Supergirl.tv to cover Superman & Lois.
Yes Batwoman.tv and Stargirl.tv are also us. We have YoungJustice.tv, HarleyQuinn.tv TheWitcher.tv, Wondergirl.tv as well. More in the works.
Well, of course if you have the time, (you must be busy with the others sites) I think it would be awesome to have Superman&Lois.tv
I have a suggestion : maybe do a survey on this website like you used to do for our favorite episodes. Once you have enough answers, you can delete it so that we keep Supergirl.tv about the Girl of Steel. Maybe put it in the news section for now. It's just an idea.
