Arrowverse comes full circle with its first comic book crossover event, Earth-Prime
By Chris Arrant published about 6 hours ago
The Arrowverse assembles in comics for the Earth-Prime event
The CW's DC television shows are coming full circle to a comic book event set in the canon of the Arrowverse universe.
Launching April 5, Earth-Prime is a three-month, six-issue event with the first five issues spotlighting a current individual CW/DC series, with the final issue (Earth-Prime #6) being a full-on Arrowverse crossover.
Actors, writers, and even showrunners from the shows will be involved in the creation of each double-sized issue approved by the show's producers.
With the unlimited possibilities of comic books, the event could potentially feature characters, settings, and action sequences not possible on the budgets of weekly TV series and could also include the possible returns of characters from Arrow, Supergirl, and Black Lightning, all series no longer in production.
DC has released information about the first two issues both on sale in April. Here's a rundown:
Earth-Prime #1 - Batwoman (April 5)
The event kicks off April 5 with Earth-Prime #1, featuring characters from the Batwoman TV series. The story stars the titular new Batwoman (Ryan Wilder) dealing with classic Batman villain Clayface (making his Arrowverse in-continuity debut) who binds himself to a local high school student along with Luke Fox who deals with being both a new superhero and a boyfriend.
Earth-Prime #1 will be written by show writers Natalie Abrams and Kelly Larson, along with the Luke Fox/Batwing actor Camrus Johnson. Comic book veteran Clayton Henry draws the issue.
Earth-Prime #2 - Superman & Lois (April 19)
In this episo– err, issue - of Earth-Prime, Clark Kent and Lois Lane celebrate their first wedding anniversary but are pulled off track by their respective careers as superhero and reporter. Plus the origins of the evil Superman variant from Earth-TUD22 that's been teased in the first two seasons of the show will finally be explored directly.
Earth-Prime #2 will be written by Superman & Lois writers - Adam Mallinger, Jai Jamison, and Andrew Wong. Classic Superman artist Tom Grummett will be drawing the issue, with inker Norm Rapmund.
Both of the first two issues of Earth-Prime feature covers by Kim Jacinto along with a Batwoman and Superman and Lois photo variant cover for the first and second issue, respectively.
Future issues of Earth-Prime
Earth-Prime #s 3 through 5 will feature stories set in the continuity of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Stargirl (solidifying the series' loose ties to the Arrowverse), and The Flash, all written or co-written by creative talent from the shows.
All of the first five issues will also feature bonus material created by cast members of the shows, along with "teasers" that give readers clues to the "nature of the final crossover in issue #6," according to DC.
While the first five issues are all based on the current DC-TV line-up, as we mentioned, appearances by characters from any previous or current Arrowverse shows in any issue but especially the sixth crossover is possible, including in-development series like Gotham Knights and Justice U.
Stay tuned to Newsarama for more details on this project leading up to its debut on April 5.
The Arrowverse is doing their first proper comic book crossover event - how will it compare with the best DC Comic stories of all time?
No mention of Supergirl and her cast but I would be shocked if they aren't involved.

I enjoyed this series and wouldn’t mind DC continuing it using any character from any show past or present, just call it Arrowverse Earth-Prime and don’t make issues show specific focus each issue on specific characters or groups of characters.
It was great to see Kara and J’onn in 2049. I had to chuckle at the human heroes like Batwoman and the Atoms still being around though, I’ll concede we don’t know it’s Ryan in the Batwoman suit. Would Ryan still want/be able to be Batwoman in 27 years, she’d be well into her 40s. I’ll have to do the same thing I did with Armageddon and go with humans only suit up when absolutely necessary when they get older. Even highly trained athletes reach a point where their bodies just can’t perform at elite level anymore so while they can still beat us mere mortals they retire from the elite game. I’m nowhere near elite and as much as I don’t like it if I push myself skiing like I did in my 20s I really pay for it the next day.

Arrowverse Crossover Preview: Supergirl, Impulse & XS vs (SPOILER)
Posted on June 18, 2022 by Ray Flook
After planting the seeds across Batwoman, Superman & Lois & DC's Legends of Tomorrow, DC's Stargirl, and The Flash, the big bad of the Arrowverse crossover Earth-Prime is about to be revealed- and it's a game-changer. Just as a reminder, what sets this DC Comics six-issue series different from other comics that stem from television shows is that this crossover actually matters to Arrowverse canon. So to that end, it has the creative teams behind the respective shows actively involved, supplying storylines and concepts that directly or indirectly impacted each show's lore and small-screen universe overall. But now that each of our main players has been introduced, Bart aka Impulse & Nora aka XS find themselves coming face-to-face-to-deadly-energy-staff with the one who's been pulling the strings. But as you're about to see in the preview for Earth-Prime #6 (Hero's Twilight), speed won't be enough to save Bart & Nora. No, they're going to need something a bit more "super"…
Earth-Prime Primer: Batwoman, Superman & Lois, Legends of Tomorrow, Stargirl, The Flash & More!
Things kicked off on April 5th with Earth-Prime #1 (The CW's "Batwoman" and then pick back up on April 19th with Earth-Prime #2 (The CW's "Superman & Lois" before May brings Earth-Prime #3 (The CW's "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" on May 3rd and Earth-Prime #4 (The CW's "DC's Stargirl" on May 17th. From there, we head into June with Earth-Prime #5 (The CW's "The Flash" on June 7th before Earth-Prime #6 on June 21st brings our heroes together for an epic crossover conclusion. Each issue offers cover art by Kim Jacinto as well as photo variant covers based on each respective show. Now here's a look at the official rundown/overview for the six-issue limited series, including a preview of Earth-Prime #6 (Hero's Twilight), written by Jeff Hersch & Thomas Pound with art by Will Robson. Oh, and… MAJOR SPOILERS ALERT? If you're not up-to-date on the limited series, then tread carefully because you're going to learn who "The Big Bad" is:
Earth-Prime #1 (The CW's "Batwoman": Ryan Wilder, aka Batwoman, makes her costumed comic book debut in a story co-written by series writers Natalie Abrams and Kelley Larson, plus series cast member Camrus Johnson (Luke Fox/Batwing), with art by Clayton Henry. Ever since the tech that created many of Batman's rogues hit the streets, Ryan Wilder has been running herself ragged trying to contain the new villains popping up around Gotham City. But when Clayface's (making his CW debut) mud binds itself to a local high schooler, Batwoman will need help from an unexpected source to contain this muddy foe! Also, follow how Luke Fox balances his life as a superhero and a boyfriend!
Earth-Prime #2 (The CW's "Superman & Lois": Superman & Lois series writers Adam Mallinger, Jai Jamison, and Andrew Wong join DC fan-favorite artists Tom Grummett and Norm Rapmund in a story spotlighting Clark Kent and Lois Lane's first anniversary. Trying to celebrate their marital bliss is never easy when you're a superhero husband and news reporter wife; especially when world-saving and creating hard-hitting stories continue to spoil your plans! Plus, the true origins of the evil Superman from John Henry Irons' world are finally revealed!
Earth-Prime #3 (The CW's "DC's Legends of Tomorrow": Written by Lauren Fields & Daniel Park with art by Paul Pelletier & Andrew Hennessy, this chapter finds Ray Palmer assembling the retired Legends for one last go-round after he learns Mick Rory's Necrian children have been kidnapped by a group of mysterious Necrian assassins. But is this universe-spanning mission really what it seems? Hold on to your Beebos, everyone!
Earth-Prime #4 (The CW's "DC's Stargirl": Written by James Robinson & Paula Sevenbergen with art by Jerry Ordway, this chapter finds the Dugan-Whitmore family vacation in full swing, but something sinister lurks in the woods, stalking Pat Dugan. Can Stargirl and S.T.R.I.P.E. face down the threat from Pat's past and preserve their summer trip, or will it come to a tragic end?
Earth-Prime #6 ("Hero's Twilight": Written by Jeff Hersch & Thomas Pound with art by Will Robson: Across time and universes, Magog has been amassing forces to finally free humanity from their dependency on so-called "heroes." In his eyes, all they do is bring about pain and destruction everywhere they go, solving no problems and bringing no peace to the world. Magog and his allies plan to change everything and help society bring the superhero community to its knees, helping society reach its true potential, once and for all.

The fourth installment is a good story. Most importantly Supergirl is actually shown as one of the heroes of Earth-Prime! Also shown are Black Lightning, Batwoman, Hawkgirl, Hawkman, XS, Implus, Mia Queen, and I believe both Atoms. Kara’s shown in two panels and in one it’s just her with the villain saying “we’d be gods”, my problem with that panel is the colorist goofed and filed in her \S/ in yellow. Her \S/ is correct in the first panel.
I’m actually have a spark of hope that Supergirl will be a part of the final chapter. I find it telling that Stargirl is on another Earth and in comic form found a way to acknowledge the other shows yet the S&L issue like the show didn’t. To me that pretty much sums up how the S&L showrunners feel.

I enjoyed the third installment. It was handy that they explained who everyone is, I never got into LoT so while I knew some of the legends I didn’t know them all. I had no trouble following the story. It warms my heart to know it’s Canon that Kara’s still Supergirl in 2049. I’m pretty sure there nothing left to spoil.
