With San Diego Comic Con less than a month away (July 19th-22nd), I thought I'd go ahead and set this thread up.
In years past, info came in fast and furious, and ofttimes articles/news links got lost among all the posted video clips and comments. So, I thought maybe we could place Comic Con related articles and news tidbits here to discuss, photos in Romulus's photo thread, and I'll create a video thread?
And, as usual, keep your eye on the Admin's newspage for inside scoops and videos.

I think the news we're most eager to hear at this point is:
Which cast members will be there, on what day/time, and in what hall?

I just can't see WB allowing them to use "Man of Steel" for Guardian.

Maybe Supergirl is away from National City and Superman comes in to cover for a episode. If they are filming Episode 3 first (got any sources Kelly?) then that probably means Episodes 1 and 2 are waiting for Melissa and we'll have plenty of her in those episodes, maybe Kara/Supergirl lite in 3 and 4 (hope not though).
I think all I really want to hear at Comic Con is confirmation that there won't be any Melissa free Supergirl episodes at any point of the start of the season.
DCTV on Youtube is where I heard the rumors...that's all I know.

Found this interesting tweet from Leanne Aguilera:
I'm so bummed! I tried my hardest to get the cast of #Supergirl to come to ET's interview suite this year, but apparently since Melissa's schedule is so tight this year, they're not doing press.
Nnnnnooooo! Sad. Their cast interviews are some of my favorite things they do all year, especially the MTV one!

My question is why wouldn’t they let the rest of the cast do press without Melissa?

I'm glad the press interviews were not that informative, funny at times yes, but IMO pretty useless. And it would probably be all about #Karamel and #Sanvers break....I'm ready for that discussion to move on. Maybe them not doing press will help that along.

Concerning no press... I think Melissa will be there at Comic Con the whole time the cast is, but I'm thinking they just want to lessen the load of chaos a gazillion press interviews add on top of Comic Con panels and parties. She has such a busy Broadway schedule, I think perhaps they are simply trying to maintain the same level of stress she'd have if she had stayed in New York--not making it MORE stressful. Hope I'm making sense. I also know, many Broadway leads in musicals rest their voices in-between shows. Doing a lot of press would make her talk a lot.
LeilaWWG, you made a good point about questioning why the REST of the cast isn't doing press. I'm thinking perhaps they will be. Leanne Aguilera might have simply been saying she tried to get an interview with the cast as a whole?

I think all we know is that the cast won't be able to do the ET interview. I doubt Melissa is coming that far just for the panel.

For me, and other fans I know....wouldn't be much of a draw to watch without the lead participating. And they might want to get back up to Vancouver to get most of the scenes shot that do not include Kara so than when Melissa returns they can move on pretty quickly. I would much rather them take the time to do that than rush things like they did the 2nd half of this past season.

That shot must be from 2016. I knew Mehcad is in good shape but dang how/why is Chyler covering her eyes. Now I really want a scene with a shirtless Mehcad, this should be doable since James and Lena are together.

Both Melissa and Chyler covered their eyes at the same time. It was funny. At the time, they were both married, so it made it funnier.

That's 2015, Tyler was 2016, Chris was 2017.......lol
And the closest we got to a shirtless Mehcad was the first season in a tank. It's too hard for them to do him sleeveless or shirtless, he has far too many tats.

Chyler is still married by the way. But I must say seeing those two hide their heads, that was a riot.

It's bad enough that, if they do a Q&A during the panel, that's undoubtedly a large part of what the questions will be.

Here are some Supergirl excerpts from the SDCC TV guide issue, someone posted them on twitter today.
Edit: also attached a screenshot from an IG story that unfortunately was redlined, but it's still legible

I doubt it, at SDCC a grand majority of the people that are there are comic geeks and they really could care less about ships. You will have some, but as we saw last year, not one question about #Sanvers or #Supercorp as far as the panel was concerned....and any other interview I saw for that matter. Holbrook is a shipper for sure, but I think he got his belly full of it this week on Twitter.

Was thinking the same thing, Kelly. Most at Comic Con have followed the comic book character of Supergirl for quite some time, and are just excited for the character to be represented on television. I would also suspect the great majority of this casts' fans are supportive--unlike those who spout off on twitter. Those who do so, are shippers. Shippers tend to be ship fans, not show/comic fans. And, being to actually get SDCC tix takes $$, planning, and real effort most in the panel audience will be more on the supportive end.
