Melissa said she’s always doubtful saying Mxy’s full name and thinking of doing retake every time. Thomas said she did say it wrong the first time. Face with tears of joy
Melissa is hoping that the entire seasons (six years) of Supergirl, not just the final season to show fans, young women in particular how they treat themselves, not to be afraid to speak up own their powers and empower people that they love. Melissa sounds a bit tearing up here.
Melissa still said she can’t discuss the costume but mentioned she’s taking away tiny dinosaurs from the set. Thomas told Melissa to just put on Supergirl costume sometimes and walk around Hollywood Boulevard pretending to be Supergirl but has to deny she’s actually Melissa
Melissa said the relationships between Kara and Lena, Kara and Alex, Kara and Nia, are all different and unique in their own rights. She’s bringing the energy of sisterhood growing up with her sisters and being in Supergirl into her new book.
Melissa growing up loving nature because her grandparents took her and her sisters to national parks inspire her to write her book with world building magic related to nature. She was an avid reader since young and read many adventure books with magic and fantasy themes.
Melissa said that she’s more like Ellie and Jessica is more like Parker but they didn’t do it on purpose
"what are you doing now?"
"letting the dust settle, being a mom, i have a production company and am learning the ropes, really just being a person"

Thomas doing tongue twister of alphabets resembling names of fifth dimensional names. Melissa is smiling through it. She then laughed after Thomas said it’s weird seeing everyone wearing spandex as superheroes.
Btw, Melissa didn’t say Kara and Lena specifically are sisters or in sisterhood. She was saying about the nuance being in Supergirl and the story of her in Supergirl with other characters in general and growing up with her sisters to write it into her book.
Melissa said there’s this board game called Pitch Storm, in relation about Elevator Pitch question, and it gave her anxiety. Melissa trying out elevator pitch and Thomas pitched in at times. When it’s Thomas turn, Melissa jokingly said “it’s not for me”

‘Supergirl’ Star Melissa Benoist “Feeling A Lot Gratitude” For Supe Series & Impact Ahead Of Finale – NYCC
By Alexandra Del Rosario
Melissa Benoist’s time as Supergirl for the CW is nearing its end as the supe series heads to the finale in November. During the a Thursday panel at the virtual New York Comic Con, Benoist reflected on her time as the titular superhero and her next steps.
“I don’t think I truly realized what i was signing up for, so my expectations…my mind was blown right form the start,” Benoist said. “It was one of the hardest most challenging experience of my life and I think it will remain that for the rest of my life.”
In September 2020, The CW revealed that the superhero series would end with its sixth and final season. Supergirl debuted in October 2015 on CBS before joining The CW lineup for Season 2 in October 2016. The series finale is set to air in November.
When asked about what comes next, the Supergirl star said she has just been sitting with the series’ end and processing her time on the beloved show.
“Right not, just feeling a lot of gratitude,” she added.
Of course, with Supergirl wrapped Benoist has set her eyes on new endeavors – the YA novel series Haven’s Secret, her Three Things production banner (which has linked up with Warner Bros. Television), and parenting her one-year-old child.
Also making literary moves post-Supergirl is Benoist’s co-star Tom Lennon, who gave an update about his Ronan Boyle series and its adaptation at DreamWorks. The actor shared that the children’s book series is set to come to screen sometime around Christmas 2024.
Even with Supergirl nearing its final chapter, Benoist shared takeaways that will last beyond the series’ lifetime.
“I hope that it always and forever…shows fans and young women in particular how to be true to yourself and not be afraid to speak up and to empower and empower the people you love around you and really embrace community,” she said.
Supergirl also stars Azie Tesfai, Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, Katie McGrath, Jesse Rath, Nicole Maines, Julie Gonzolo, Andrea Brooks and Staz Nair. Based on characters from DC created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Supergirl is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Robert Rovner , Jessica Queller and Robert Wright.
