Mon-El in the Phantom Zone

I was amazed watching last night's episode S2E22 "Nevertheless, She Persisted".
After all of the battle scenes, the hand-to-hand fighting etc., it came down to a tiny tidbit from the 60's comics.
Daxamites could be harmed by Lead!

Anyone from the golden age of comics knows that Superboy and Mon-El were good friends (almost brothers) until Mon-El became very sick from Lead poisoning (Superboy #89 1961).

As a result, Superboy had to send Mon-El into the Phantom Zone to save his life.

After watching the final "Mon-El" scene, it appears the writers took a clue from the comics and literally flew him into the Phantom Zone.
Wow. What a way to end the Season!

That was not the Phantom Zone that Mon-El flew into; it was an artificially created wormhole, and most likely was generated from the Future by the Legion of Superheroes.

Hopefully Brainiac 5 will have created the "cure" for Lead poisoning when he gets there.

Also voting for future traveling Mon-el.

I'm betting he comes back in time again next season with a treatment for the lead allergy and lots more experience as a hero, having spent years with the Legion in "subjective" time.

Of course he could also bring back problems, personal and supervillianous, along with him.

Just ask Barry how THAT can backfire!

He is a series regular so he will be back in ep 3-4 and i think we will see him in PZ as well so his character will evolve


Wherever he ended up/whatever he flew into has nothing to do with the Phantom Zone.

As a refresher, the show's version of the Phantom Zone is an actual area of physical space located in the Rao System nearby to where Krypton used to be (which also places it in proximity to Daxam), and is the place where A) Fort Rozz was docked and B) Kara's pod became marooned for 24 years.
