Glad to say Supergirl fans are generally not guilty of this. To date I have almost not seen a Supergirl fan hating on the other shows.
But, if you scan social media, for example on Facebook, Twitter or Youtube (Youtube being actually a lot more harmonious lately), you can see the violent backlash against the increasing integration of the CW superhero shows.
At the frontline are the people that watch Arrow only. I get it, it was the first DC show on the CW, and it's darker than the rest. That somehow makes certain Arrow fans feel a special entitlement. They are the most vocal in beating down the other shows, the magnitude increasing in order of LoT, The Flash, then Supergirl. The recent Musical is a particularly favourite target of theirs, the epitome of the perceived negative qualities in their eyes, which I can only guess to be light-hearted environment in a show. And the fact that Arrow is increasingly crossing over further ticks them off.
A particular photo of Melbs and Grant having a laugh at some Arrow related joke at Paleyfest incensed them. A storm of vile toxic insults against the Supergirl and Flash leads ensued on Facebook.
The integration of the multiverse is a major cause. I for one am loving the hell out of every sign of cooperation between the shows, but to some fans that watch one show only, they get really salty. A large amount of complaints are about having to watch other shows, and CW's increased cross-promotion means on every ad they post there's bound to be such hatred, normally as the top voted comments.
Less so than Arrow, but there are those who only watch The Flash and they also hate on everything else. They are a bit more justified though, because The Flash is a damn good show, and although I personally like Supergirl probably slightly more, rationally speaking it probably is the most well made in the Arrowverse. Still doesn't give them the right to shoot everything else down though.
Lastly there's those who don't quite see Supergirl as a worthy addition into the Arrowverse, and hate on this show only. They too splinter the unity of the DCTV fandom. Some are fueled by a rejection of a progressive feminist show?(My guess, take with a grain of salt), others possibly more justified because of the various plot faults evident currently. About the second accusation there's not much I can say in defense, I love this show but Season 3 does need to fix a good amount of things. Despite that, per each episode, I think SG is the most interesting at the moment, on par with LoT.
The impact of all this? Every time I want to look at the comments I end up emotionally slapping myself. It does not feel good to see the things you like attacked over and over. Other fans who like me, thoroughly enjoy the entirety of Arrowverse, may feel the same way.
In my opinion the quality of Arrow is in fact on decline. Maybe certain fans are trying to hold on to something.
I disagree with Lena shippers as much as you do (though I see you particularly really dislike them. You could tone it down a bit, some of your previous comments on news pages got removed by admin. They aren't right to push their agenda aggressively, but we don't want to become the reverse.), but they aren't really disturbing the integrity of DCTV fandom as whole, just kinda ruining Supergirl
People like to bash on things that they don't like. That's why i stop seeing youtube comments, instagram, twitter, and facebook for my favorite shows . And that's why i hang out in this site, because the discussion is somewhat more civil than other places (except for the discussion the other day, you know which one that i mean).
Honestly, i just enjoying the show without rooting for a ship or anything.
Give some critique for the show? that's alright, we've been doing that in here, don't we?
But bashing writers, actors/actress, even told the actors/actress to just die (you know how brutal these people can be)... These people should check themselves to a doctor imo.

It is not the "single show fans" hurting the fandom at all....not at all. Not even in the slightest. HOWEVER, single couple fans" are. And I really wish they would grow up.

The damage could be seen by me and certain others. A variety of people hurt the fandom, but no need to dismiss one if you witness another group of perpetrators

In other words, Kel...the shippers. I have stopped following the #Supergirl on Twitter because who knows what kind of toxic muck I might encounter.
I like all 4 of these shows though I am more the Supergirl and The Flash.

Exactly this, RobertAnthony.
In the beginning of Supergirl moving to The CW... Fedguy's argument rang true... at least, from what I was witnessing on Twitter. A lot of fans from the other DC shows seem to REALLY express dislike for Melissa, and called the show corny. They also expressed a dislike for what they felt was a favoring of The CW for Supergirl over the already established DC shows.
With that said, those types of attacks seem to have retreated for the most part I think (though Fedguy may still be encountering them). But, the rise of the Shipping Wars have most definitely stepped forward front and center. So like, RobertAnthony, I now avoid all discussions of #Supergirl.

I like how the canon we have now but like going to war over it, nope
I recall there was a similar fight between Arrow fans over Laurel vs Felicity

I never saw ANY dislike for Melissa, even in the slightest. However, Arrow fans were upset at the amount of publicity that the Arrow Twitter sites were giving Supergirl. The Arrow Writer's Room, The CW Arrow twitter feed, etc was giving Supergirl all kinds of kudos here and there and they were upset about that....but as far as Melissa in particular, never saw any of that.

None of whatever blame should go on Melissa. This would seemingly make her a victim of circumstance. To put the blame on Melissa would trickle down to the showrunners who cast her in the role, namely Mr. Berlanti and Ms. Adler.

Yeah... Most of the Melissa dislike was coming from a certain "clan," it seemed... Fans of another female on a different DC show. I find it sad when females attack other females. a big reason I stopped watching The Bachelor. lol But, again... I don't EVER see attacks on Melissa now. I think once they got to see her acting chops and solid heart... They shut their yappers.

I saw a bit of dislike for the series from fans of "Jessica Jones" a Marvel series, but nothing against her personally.
