So, I debated whether or not I should post it here. But I've been a member of this forum for a couple years, now, and it does feel like our own little community. So I wanted to share some (possibly) great news.
I got the news, yesterday, that I've been accepted to Vancouver Film School. I even got a partial scholarship!
I have to figure out the rest of the funding, and I really hope I can get it sorted. It's a big life change. But there is a distinct possibility I could be in Vancouver by the time they start filming Crisis on Infinite Earths, or even Supergirl's 100th episode!
Forgive me if this isn't on topic enough for our forum. And admins, feel free to delete. But I just had to share, because I'm really excited about the possibility of attending film school and starting a career in the same city where they film ALL of my favorite shows, including the one starring our favorite Girl of Steel!
UPDATE:
I am going in January! With the admin's permission, I am posting a link for a gofundme to help with living expenses.
https://www.gofundme.com/f/kyle039s-going-to-vancouver-film-school?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet
I'm definitely going to be trying to get access to sets and get photos, whenever possible!
So...adding an update to this! I got all my acceptance materials (added pics to the main post) I did postpone, slightly, but am officially enrolled at Vancouver Film School for January 2020!
It's ALMOST set in stone. This is quite the life changing endeavor, as I won't be able to work during the program. As such, I need to figure out some non-employment based healthcare options, in the US, at least for the first 90 days of my residency. I'm an organ transplant recipient, and one of my medications is super pricey. Sadly, I can't explore plans for next year until probably October or later.
But if I can get that little bit taken care of, then I'm going! The rest of my year is spent saving as much as I can!
I'm hesitant to say "It's definitely happening" until that's sorted. But everything I can do before then is sorted. I'm so excited, guys. I can't really express how much.

A few people from the forum have donated, so I just wanted to say thank you so much! This is going to be an awesome time in Vancouver!
Wow! This is a great bit of information to share with us. Congratulations!
Do keep us posted. And of course, if you get in and happen to do any internships with the Supergirl show, I'm sure there would be many here who would volunteer to help you out with your "assignment" in any way that we can .

Some updates, for you guys!
At the and of December, I'll be moving to Vancouver to start film school in January!
It's as official as it gets. Student loans are out. Notice is in at my job. No turning back!

The admin has allowed me to share something.
I have started a gofundme to help with living costs, while I am there, as I will not be able to work, due the intensity of the program.
I hate asking for help, but I have to put my pride aside, because this is an insane life change for me. And obviously, don't feel obligated to donate. I'm just spreading the link wherever I can because every little bit helps.
What I can promise, though, is that any donations will go towards living expenses. And helping ease the financial burden in that area will help free me up to try to visit sets, get photos, and share as much as I can, here, as our "man on the ground".

Thank you, guys! I can't wait to be living and working in the same city as where one of our favorite shows is filmed!

Thanks, guys!
I'll definitely keep you posted as things progress. I gotta get the funding together. The projected start date is October 2019, so I could have time to plan and get financing in place, not to mention moving. Really hoping I can get that funding sorted. If so, I'm going!
