Remember when Kara, Barry and the Atom got transported together to a distant "living planet of peril"? That was in DC's "Super-Team Family" comics #11, back around 1977?

At one point, Supergirl, the Flash, and the Atom all got trapped and rendered immobile in a medieval-style dungeon set up by the alien villain. But then the Atom figured out how they could escape. He told Kara to unleash her "solar flare" on the floor of the dungeon, and burn right through it. And of course, it worked!

Stewart, I'm 99.8% sure I have that comic. I haven't opened up collection for a few years. There are about 3000 comics -- 95+% DC!!

I don't think I have thanked you before, but I enjoy all your postings with clips, covers, and art from those years. It brings back a lot of memories.

"How about the cover to Supergirl: The Silver Age Vol. 1 book being released in July, to me it personifies Supergirl from that time with that nice smile and the classic fists on hips pose."

Wow , great cover - thanks Kiwi!
I wonder who drew it? (It doesn't really look like Bengal's work..)

Yes, that is the style and look that Helen Slater captured in the 80s Supergirl movie. And I'd say that Melissa's portrayal of Supergirl is much closer to the original Silver Age Supergirl than any later version. (Melissa just added the "dorkiness" of Christopher Reeve's Clark Kent to her portrayal of Kara Danvers.)
