It was one year ago that Supergirl aired it's final episode and said goodbye to the super friends.

We were lucky to get Chyler Leigh back for the Armageddon Flash event just a few weeks after the finale last season on The Flash. And there are rumors we'll be getting a returning Supergirl character who never appeared,in the upcoming final season of The Flash(most are betting on Nicole Maines). But I so miss this show.It was my favorite Arrowverse show. Not because of the show itself but the characters.I Ioved Melissa and the rest of the cast as they played these characters.Melissa as Supergirl remains my favorite Arrowverse hero.

I also still remain very happy with how the show ended and considering the state of things,we may of really lucked out Supergirl ended when it did.

1)Batwoman canceled and ended on a setup for a season we would never get.Spoilers for the upcoming season of the Flash.

Javicia Leslie is returning on The Flash this season for more than one episode. She is playing villain Red Death(in the comics,an evil speedster version of Batman from the Dark Multiverse)But she just seemed to confirm today on Instagram(since deleted) that she also back playing Batwoman on The Flash too.

2)Legends canceled and ended on a cliffhanger.Showrunner admitted they played a game of chicken with renewal even though was warned by CW,the show may be canceled and to plan the ending accordingly.

3)The Flash going into it's final season and ending on its own terms but with a shortened 13 episode season.

4)Stargirl canceled two weeks ago. They knew the show was endangered and so designed the season to have a satisfying series ending.Spoiler for another DC show.
Warning: Spoiler Alert! [Toggle message]
Stargirl(Brec Bassinger) is going to be appearing on an episode of Titans this season.Season 4 started on HBO Max last week

5)Superman & Lois, which cut ties with the Arrowverse Earth Prime is in in great danger to be canceled after season 3 following the new CW owner's Nexstar announcing their plans for the future of the network beginning with 2023/2024 season.More can be read here. https://deadline.com/2022/11/nexstar-the-cw-brad-schwartz-schitts-creek-warner-brothers-discovery-paramount-global-1235166587/

Supergirl got to end on it's own terms with a 20 episode final season.Arrow's final season was 10 episodes.Black Lightning was 13.The Flash will be 13.Batwoman,Legend,Stargirl canceled.Naomi was canceled.Superman & Lois if it ends with season 3 than also canceled with 15 episodes.Hopfully the showrunner plans accordingly like Stargirl and unlike Legends & Batwoman.Gotham Knights feels Dead On Arrival. The CW already announced no new show is geting a back order of episodes this season and again, the new owners plans are not a good sign.

Supergirl fans really lucked out.I miss the show and characters but I'm happy for what we got.

Yes, we were very fortunate the show ended on its own terms and when it did.

It's a pity it is no longer on the airwaves as a first-run show, but some networks carry re-runs (depending on the territory you live in) and there is a plethora of alternative viewing options. Six seasons was plenty.

The story was told, and we were very fortunate to have her in our lives when we did.

I'm a physical media guy and have all six seasons on Blu Ray.:)

Agreed, the timing of the ending was right for multiple reasons.

Well, I'm thinking about watching the finale again but this time I'll have a pitcher of Margarita's with kicked up lime slices. No more dry martini's for me, the olives gave me heartburn..;) I'm pretty sure that one of our cable networks will show the entire series again. The one thing that keeps me up at night is that I never knew for sure whatever happened to the necklace that kara gave to monty after season one.:o I know he had it when he returned from the future but what role did the necklace play in him going to the future.

Yes, six years is a pretty good run. I remember when the show first started, someone posted that they were hoping for "six seasons and a movie". Well, we got the six seasons, but not yet the movie :(
Anyway, I'm going to do my part to keep the heritage of the Supergirl TV show alive, at least in a small way. For those who enjoy them, I intend to keep writing my own fan-fiction stories starring the TV Supergirl, and posting them here in the Forum, perhaps once every month or two.

A year has passed and the Arrowverse will end in 2023 along with the CW as fans have come to know it. Supergirl was indeed fortunate to have an ending that cast, crew, and fans knew was coming before the final season even started filming. I remain satisfied with the ending, Melissa said more than once she wanted Kara to grow as a hero and a woman and I believe that was achieved. In hindsight the way things worked out I think the show was destined to get a planned ending. I never expected Supergirl to go beyond seven seasons. If there had been a seventh season it would have aired earlier this year or possibly be wrapping up now, either way it wouldn’t have been part of the May 2022 bloodbath or like Stargirl. I also believe that had a seventh season been agreed on it would’ve meant a shorter season six and a short season seven so there might not have been any more episodes total.

I recently started rewatching from the beginning and am a few episodes into season one. It’s different yet still enjoyable even knowing the ending and each character’s fate. I know it will be hard watching the two episodes with Melissa’s ex husband but the only self imposed rule I have is I can’t skip an episode. I have to chuckle a bit at those who said Supergirl became “political”, Cat was blatantly political as in dropping real names from the beginning. IMO it was the polarized atmosphere especially in the US that changed. I have no plan for my rewatch and will allow it to go in fits and spurts or even stop if my mood sees fit.
