It is my sad duty if it hasn't already been reported here that Adam West, who from 1966 to 1968 played Batman on the campy, classic ABC TV series, has died after a brief battle with leukemia at age 88.

One of his last TV appearances was on NBC's recently cancelled "Powerless."

I remember watching reruns of Batman in the 1980's, first on channel 5 (WNEW-TV/WNYW), then again in 1989 on WPIX 11 in time for the Michael Keaton feature film.

I used to love the Batman TV series! Yes it was very silly and was, I imagine, miles away from the comic book character. But it was such fun!

Until Supergirl, this was my favourite superhero TV series.

The "Powerless" episode he was in didn't air in the the US because the show was cancelled and pulled from NBC's schedule before all the episodes aired. In tribute to West, DC has posted the full episode to their youtube channel (see link below). It is also on Hulu, which is where I watched it.
If NBC hadn't pulled the show, this would have been episode 11. Episodes 10, 12 and 13 have yet to see the light of day in the United States, but I read that they were released online in New Zealand.
I'm hopeful for a DVD release, but that may be a longshot.
